A crew will be replacing a water main valve in your area. We are scheduled to start this work Monday, February 24th. To complete the work, the water will be shut off that morning. Water will be restored as soon as possible; we cannot estimate the time frame.
Upon restoration, you may experience some air in your lines and/or discolored water. We will be opening fire hydrants in the area to aid in preventing this from happening.
Because we are making a full shutdown of the water main, upon restoration of your service, we will be issuing a Precautionary Boil Water Advisory for:
2915, 2905, 2825, 2815, 2810, 2805, 2800, 2745, 2740, 2735, 2730, 2725, 2720, 2715, 2710, 2645, 2635 Wedgewood
In consultation with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management, it has been determined that water customers should boil their drinking water. This precautionary measure is necessary due to a shutdown associated with a main repair in the area. All customers affected will receive a door hanger notice prior to, and upon completion of the testing.
Affected customers are asked to boil cooking and drinking water for 3-5 minutes until notified that the water has passed laboratory testing. Customers will be notified when the order is lifted.
We appreciate your cooperation during this time and will update you as necessary until the drinking water issue has been resolved. If you have any further questions concerning this Precautionary Boil Water Advisory, please contact Columbus City Utilities at 812-372-8861.
