Columbus City Utilities Quality Control Lab has passed its Indiana Wastewater Environment Association (IWEA) Laboratory Excellence Award Audit with a 99.8% grade.

The IWEA Laboratory Excellence Award is awarded for outstanding achievement in the implementation of laboratory techniques and administration. It recognizes those laboratories that demonstrate a high level of commitment to good laboratory practice and accurate data reporting. To receive an excellence award, the laboratory must score 85% or higher in each category as well as an overall score of 90% or higher.

Quality Control Supervisor Angie Bowling said, “I am extremely proud of the Quality Control Staff, and the effort that was put into preparing for this audit as well as the outstanding dedication and quality that they bring into their job every day. We love what we do, and it makes me proud to represent our department when the hard work is acknowledged by an outside entity.”
