Level Billing Agreement

Your changes will be averaged for a twelve month period, and that amount will be used for your Level Billing amount each month. Your bill will reflect the Level Billing Amount, the Actual Charges for the period, and the Total Balance as of the date of the bill. Periodically, throughout the year your Level Billed amount will be reviewed to prevent a large balance due on your November reconciliation. Adjustments may be necessary if:

  1. Your Billing rate changes.

  2. You make changes to your account.

  3. Your actual usage changes significantly.

At the beginning of November, your account will be reconciled. The Level Billing Reconciled Account will show on your November bill. You will need to pay any remaining balance. At the beginning of December we will evaluate your account and calculate new Level Billing amounts if necessary.


Level Billing Terms and Eligibility Guidelines:
Offered to Residential customers only. Must be on our system for at least 12 months to establish a history. Must have acceptable credit with the Columbus City Utilities. Must not have been disconnected for non-payment in 12 months. An account will be taken off of Level Billing and a manual reconciliation will be performed at any time during the 12 month period for any of the following reasons:

  1. The customer moves out of the service location.

  2. Any customer not current for more than 30 days will be automatically removed from Level Billing.

  3. If the customer asks to be taken off the program.

If a customer is taken off Level Billing for any reason, s/he will not be put back on Level Billing for a 12 month period. Periodically throughout the year, the customer's Level Billing amount will be reviewed to prevent a large balance due on your November Reconciliation. The only time a customer's account will be Reconciled is at the beginning of November or if a customer is taken off of Level Billing for the above reasons. A customer that is taken off of Level Billing will not be able to be put back on for a 12 month period. Increases to a customer's monthly Level Billed amount may be made during the year if rate changes occur, if the customer adds additional services to their account, or if the actual usage changes significantly. Customers with multiple Service Locations on one account will be required to have all Service Locations the same either Level or Regular Billing.
